Because of a computer crash, I recovered work that ended up with many holes in it. I am currently attempting to fill in the holes and have learned a hard series of lessons. I located my back up disks and (sadly) they were dated 2005....On August 23, 2009, I took on the huge task of combining all of my files into one so I could place all of my information on the page here at Tribalpages. If you find any information that is not correct or find multiple listings for the same person, please let me know and I'll do everything in my power to fix the problem. I can be reached here or at my e-mail addy, digginroots@yahoo.com. If you're offering a correction, please send me your source and I'll make sure it's documented. Please learn from my mistakes and back up your files frequently. I'm trying to catch up for the three years of research that I've lost besides....

The information contained in the Kathy Londo Barnes Genealogy Quest page, is an on going work. Since having children and losing parents, I've come to believe that it is very important to know about your family. I like to think of it as "a look at the past and a vision for our future"! This is a huge hobby to me and I take the accuracy of the information, very seriously. Not only do I think it's important to know where your family came from and what they encountered along the way, this information can be used for medical back ground searches.

My mom worked on the family tree for about 20 years. After her death, I packed up her office with the intent of entering her information on a computer program. When I started reading some of it, I began to take a deep interest in what I saw there. I always enjoyed history in school, so some of the details interested me. It's come to the point, where Jim and I have planned vacations around research. It has taken us to places we probably never would have gone to, otherwise. I've used mom's information as the starting base and have been able to expound on it, adding many "twigs, branches and trees" to her original work.

Again, I'm open for corrections, please provide your sources. I'm very big on proving the information to be correct. If you have information that can be used for updating a line, please e-mail it to me at: digginroots@yahoo.com I don't want to miss anyone!! I give permission for family members to use the information contained on this site. Please include sources when you do. I DO NOT give permission for ANYONE (I'm not yelling, just trying to get my point across.), to post any information taken from this site, on any PUBLIC message board, family tree site, or genealogy site etc, about any LIVING person/s. Information on anyone deceased, is a matter of public record. Please site sources when using information on someone who has died, when you've taken the information from my site. Thank you.

Use of this private site is by invitation and if you contact me, I will provide you with a pass word, that you'll be able to use to check out the site.

So remember, right now, as you're looking through this site, if you don't see your information (and you know that I have it) please be patient. It probably ended up in one of the holes and it's taking some time to get the thousands of family members, (yes-thousands) back onto the tree.

The work I'm doing on this tree for 2009 is dedicated to our grandchildren. We're currently at 11 and any new ones the Lord cares to send our way, no matter how He cares to send them, we're more than happy to welcome them into our family. He chose to give us six wonderful children. Four of them & their spouses have contributed to the tree, and for that, we are thankful.

Enjoy this music: Two of my favorite musical compositions:
Le Chancon de Claudine and
Classical Gas , both by Mason Williams.

The following poem sums up the work that I'm doing.

                                 Dear Ancestor

                      Your tombstone stands among the rest;
                                neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
                             on polished, marbled stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I'd exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
in flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
                              entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
                             one hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
                              I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
                                and come to visit you.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
